"Seemingly miraculous experiences don't have to happen by chance. Once we understand what causes them and how to evoke them in our lives, then we can begin working with them intentionally. For twenty years I've been amazed at the things people can accomplish once they understand these relationships - once they understand that we are truly all connected: that we are a part of all that we see".

"Western science has only arrived in the last few years at the place where these ancient and indigenous spiritual traditions begin.

So Western science now has arrived at the place where they say 'Oh yeah, there's a field of energy out there and it connects everything.' And so scientists are asking the question 'What does it mean. What do we do with it?' on the one hand.

And on the other hand, these ancient traditions, this is where they begin. They say 'Oh yeah, well sure, everything is connected. That's a given.'

And then their practices start from that place and they say, 'Now we'll take you one step further. Here is what this connection means in your lives. Here's how you apply it to help you to become better people and to help the lives of your family and your communities.'

What does it mean to spontaneously heal your body and the bodies of your lived ones. What does it mean to use this field to elicit peace in war-torn communities or war-torn parts of the world.

So its in the marriage of these two seemingly disparate ways of knowing: science - which is only about 400 years old and is good and is incomplete - and the spiritual traditions - which are 5000 to 7000 years old that also describe our relation to the universe which are also incomplete but that have worked for us in a very different language helping us to understand who we are.

So my question was, 'What happens if we marry those two ways of knowing into a greater understanding and then apply that understanding to where we find ourselves today - to the greatest challenges of recorded human history: the threat of a global third world war, the threat of diseases that we don't have any defense against right now, the threat of abrupt climate change that can shift everything we that know and the way that we live our lives day to day.

What if all of those seemingly disparate problems and challenges are all part of what's happening within this field - this Divine Matrix now as its being called - and because we're part of that field, what role do we play in the way those things unfold in our lives.

And the reason I wrote this book was to explore and to get some very powerful tools in terms of what we can do in our daily lives within the context of where we find ourselves in this world.
