Last weekend I presented a live session entitled: "Applying 'The Secret' in Everyday Life" at a Women's Networking Conference in Tampa, Florida. (I'll be posting this as a session online next month in the encore of our popular "Play Your Way to Prosperity" experiment - read on...)

The topic, "Applying 'The Secret," proved to be a perfect match for the conference attendees as the vast majority had been exposed to the "law of attraction" and were eager to follow up on that exposure.

Although the audience spanned all ages, races, and income levels, each of the women who approached me to speak one-on-one after my talk shared a similar story.

Conversation after conversation went pretty much like this:

"I know that the 'law of attraction' is real. I believe this in
my gut. My friends and I regularly remind each another that 'our thoughts create our reality'. And yet...

When it comes to deliberately applying 'The Secret,' it's a whole other thing. We think that we're following the directions to 'ask, believe, and receive' but it doesn't always work that
simply. What advice do you have for us?"

Over and over again the attendees made it clear that, although they were intrigued by the law of attraction in "theory", many were not yet receiving the things that they had asked for and most were finding it difficult to truly "'trust" the 'law of attraction' in a real and practical way.

Let's talk about "Trust"

Knowing. Trusting. This seems to be where many of us fall short.

If we looked at the feeling of trust on a spectrum (from low to
high vibration) it might look something like this:

• Fear (total lack of trust)
• Discouragement
• Worry
• Pessimism
• Neutrality
• Hopefulness
• Positive Expectation/Belief
• Trust/Faith
• Knowing/Conviction

Much as we would like to leap right into "conviction,"
sustainable shifts in our consciousness will only happen in
conjunction with systematic and incremental advancement up this vibrational scale.

So how can we make this happen? How do we move ourselves along this continuum so that we can root ourselves in a space of conviction and trust?

First, it is crucial to note that, although "hopefulness" and
"positive expectation" are mental constructs, in order to advance past "positive expectation" the seeker must use tools that take him/her beyond an intellectual pursuit.

As James Redfield (author of the "Celestine Prophesy") explains:

"I firmly believe that this level of experience is humanity's destiny, but it is not real for any of us until we discover it individually and map it out in our own terms...In fact, it can be argued that those who take a strictly intellectual approach to this subject will be the last to 'get it."

Direct, irrefutable personal experience.

In December, 1999, I was a "seeker" - "intrigued" by the idea of Deliberate Creation and wanting very much to believe and to trust.

By April, 11 of the year 2000 I came to possess an absolute
conviction that would never be weakened.

What happened in the months in between? I set myself up to take part in a powerful, life-changing experiment.

I'll share more about this experiment in future issues (note: if

In order to master the 'law of attraction' in a practical way,
you must create the ideal conditions that allow the truth to
reveal itself to you. In other words...

It's time for us to do an experiment...

Last year at about this time we undertook a community-wide
experiment that proved to be truly transformative for thousands of people.

So we've decided to do it again!

We're going to re-create that fabulous month-long event featuring fun, games and surprises that will help you ‘play your way to prosperity’ and we're going to track our collective prosperity evidence and evaluate the results of the experiment at the month’s end.

To internalize this truth, repeat each stage numerous times daily until you feel at one with (no resistance to) the statement.

1) It would be lovely to believe that the abundance of the Universe is circulating in my life
2) I am open to the possibility that the abundance of the Universe is circulating in my life
3) I can imagine that the abundance of the Universe is circulating in my life
4) The abundance of the Universe is circulating in my life
